Let the Label-free Revolution Begin! New Octet 384 Instrument Series

ForteBio is pleased to announce the launch of two new instruments for label-free, real-time quantitation and kinetic analysis. The Octet QK384 and Octet RED384 16-channel instruments complement current 8- channel products, while adding exciting new features. These enhancements provide higher levels of throughput, speed, and flexibility.

Currently, there is no label-free system available for researchers to perform protein quantitation on a 384-well plate in one hour, and kinetic screening and characterization on a 384-well plate in about two hours. Additionally, systems that have lower throughput are substantially more expensive than the Octet platform.

With the new Octet QK384 and Octet RED384 instruments, researchers can now obtain IgG titer of 96 samples in 16 minutes or 384 samples in one hour. The affordably priced Octet QK384 and Octet RED384 instruments pack a serious punch, delivering popular features requested by researchers:

  • 16-well simultaneous sampling
  • 384-well and 96-well formats
  • Two plate locations maximize throughput and improve workflow
  • Automation friendliness allows multiple-plate assays in one run
  • Biosensor re-racking allows maximum flexibility and operational cost savings
  • Advanced software offers greater versatility in experimental design and data analysis

Kinetic analysis including association and dissociation of biomolecules can be performed on up to 384 samples without automation. The biosensor, sample and reagent trays can be transferred to and from the Octet instrument by robots. Target ligands can be batch immobilized onto biosensors and returned to the biosensor tray for re-use in future experiments, thus extending the number of uses for each biosensor, preserving valuable ligand, and maximizing flexibility in experimental design.

Octet systems are currently used in a broad range of life science research, including drug discovery and development, antibody characterization, proteomics, and quality control in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. With the Octet QK384 and Octet RED384 instruments, unmet needs in high-throughput quantitation and kinetic characterization are fulfilled.
